Emotions

My Dear Readers,

Emotions are such a funny things.  They are real, but maybe not! To share this little bit of info...I don't think my family is very emotionally open.  We talk about everything, and we are truly each others friends.  We are super close, but I would say that we are not very emotionally vulnerable.

I have come to this conclusion as we write new songs.  My dad used to write all, or most of our English songs and now Sara and I are writing.  In an attempt to share how we feel about something, we are being forced to tap into our emotions about experiences.  That is really difficult to do when you normally, don't do that. I get so overwhelmed with my emotions that I become almost stoic to avoid the chaotic feeling. I am learning to embrace that as a gift of its own.  I think that a lot of our music is very intellectual, but now I am happy the musical experience is becoming more emotional.  This creates a sort of self discovery; its own path to enlightenment. It will be fun to see if we are able to transfer that experience on to our fans and listeners.

Lately Sara and I have been hanging out and asking ourselves "what does this or that feel like?" It pulls the attention out of your head and into your body.  Its a neat experience. And then, being able to put that into words is magic. :)

We are also realizing how much we want to know how you guys feel about things too. I created a survey for you to tell us, and I so enjoy reading what you have to say.  Thank you so much for your sweet conversations. :)  Here is the survey if you are interested. It is pretty short and to the point. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6NHYDKR

Many, Many Blessings,
